Maglabs has been awarded a contract to build a new technology system for the General Merchandising division of Marks and Spencers.
The new system will provide Marks and Spencers category buyers, garment manufacturers and print suppliers a central portal for briefing, approving and accessing all information and assets required for the production of corporate and promotional labelling.
Phase one delivery of the technology is scheduled for September 2010 with the full scope of the enterprise requirement scheduled for the summer of 2011.
The new system will provide significant cost and operations savings to Marks and Spencers through the centralisation of resources, automated processes and removal of duplication by innovative automation and efficient supply chain workflow processes.
Andy Travis, Joint Managing Director, describes the contract award as “a significant success for Maglabs, one that the entire team are very pleased and excited about. We believe Marks and Spencers awarded the contract to Maglabs due to our unique approach in providing bespoke technology systems and services to meet the exact needs of our clients. Moreover our independence from production services and the credentials and experience we have in the Retail sector through our collaborative work with John Lewis, BHS, Costa and the Arcadia Group”.
